Tell us about your career in the fitness and nutrition industry?
I ran cross-country and track starting in middle school and on through college and have always lived an active lifestyle. My mother led by example and taught healthy eating habits, which laid a foundation for my awareness of the importance of nutrition. I started teaching indoor cycling classes in 2004 and a Food Coach at A Balanced Approach.
What led you to become a Balanced Habits Food Coach?
I found KICK START when my 3rd baby was almost 1 and I was still wearing maternity pants because I couldn’t get it together to get on a reasonable exercise and nutrition routine. With the tremendous progress I made in the 28 day KICK START program, I realized I had found a life changing program.
What inspires you?
On a daily basis, I am inspired by my family to be the best version of myself. Leading by example, I try to show my children how important fitness and nutrition are to wellbeing.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Working with people who are making healthy choices and seeing results is really rewarding.
What special qualities do you bring to your coaching?
I am a parent and have a master’s degree in guidance and counseling, so I bring a positive, consistent, solution focus to the table.
What are your most memorable client experiences as a Food Coach?
Sharing in successes and watching how people are able to maintain their nutrition journey after the 28 day program inspires me to keep coaching.
What is your favorite Food Hack?
It helped to have my husband on the plan too. We have the pack and go chart on the fridge and keep things stocked for quick meal prep.
Tell us something that not everyone knows about you?
I have a fraternal twin sister who is one of my greatest friends!
