Lucky for Patrick, his gym is an Authorized Balanced Habits provider and he got some excellent Food Coaching on the BH LIFE program. He set some short and long-term goals on his 6-month LIFE term plan. Not only did he reach all his goals, but he was also able to go hiking with his sons on the Valley of Fire State Park near Las Vegas and do more than just keep up! STEP ONE
Discover Your Unique Portion Size
Everybody is different and the key to a successful outcome is knowing how much food in each meal will help you attain your specific goal. Unlike other programs that only allot a specific amount of calories per day, Balanced Habits goes a lot further by teaching you which foods are necessary to balance each of your meals throughout the day and the amounts required to elicit a metabolic response so you can feel satisfied and full of energy throughout your day.
STEP TWO
Tracking Habits & Progress
Balanced Habits provides many resources to help participants navigate their journeys with ease, but the number one most important tool is journaling. A 2017 study found that people who frequently and consistently record their dietary habits experience more consistent and long-term weight loss. Throughout your program you will not only learn how to self-monitor your eating through journaling, but you will also receive personal reviews and advice from your certified Food Coach to learn areas where you can gradually improve on your food choices.
STEP THREE
Group Participation
The final step to a successful result is the motivation and encouragement provided by both your Food Coach and fellow KICK START participants. The same 2017 study that found journaling to be an effective tool in weight loss, also noted that self-monitoring can sometimes quickly decrease over time. However, with the accountability provided by a group of your peers and led by the fitness and nutrition experts in your club, you will have everything needed to keep you focused and pushing to reach your full potential.
